Byron Bay's warm climate and amazingly beautiful beaches are just two of the reasons people from all over the world travel here.

It is a famous surfing destination because it has surf spots which range from beginner to expert. Dolphins are often seen at close quarters and the water is warm and clean.

In the right season visitors come to see the migration of the humpback whales. Byron is the most Easterly point of Australia and whales, dolphins, stingrays and turtles can often be seen from the lighthouse situated at the point.

The clubs and bars are vibrant and fun. There are also some great music venues with many top level musicians appearing. As well as live weekly music there are also two internationally renowned music festivals.The Blue and Roots Music festival is held at Easter time and Splendour in the Grass music festival is held in August.

Byron has plenty of cafes. The food experience in Byron is rich and vast. There are weekly farmers markets for those who are doing their own catering. The exotic and entertaining local craft markets at Bangalow and Byron are an absolute "must see" and sell lots of interesting locally made products.

To experience a change of scenery head to the hinterland where there are rainforests and parks with cascading waterfalls and waterholes.
